HAPPY HALLOWEEN
GHOULS & BOILS!!
Can you see the canoes and shark? Pretty cool, huh?
My friends entry for contest...hope she wins!
Careful of where you store your loot at this hale...because as a mom, it's my duty to protect pearly white smiles and healthy complexions...so at this hale tomorrow, I must warn you teenagers..I turn into a cross between the Cookie Monster and Animal from the Muppets...you can bet as HumptyHump would say, "I'll eat up all your candy & your licorice"

I am protesting against gmo filled candy and blue #40, yellow #12, red #8...whatever is clearly not organic...I will be sacrificing my health to eating these mountains of tooth decay enhancers so your parents can rest easy knowing they won't have high dental bills or trips to the dermatologists. How about changing what society has been brainwashed into thinking all these years? When this one day out of the year, when people eat hoards of candy (especially when theres a loved one whos a diabetic :/ how could you?!) why not try to stay on the healthy track and keep up with healthy eating by creating or purchasing...dare I say..."healthy" snacks or organic candies? C'mon...it's not hard to choose a gluten free, cacao (tastes better than Hersheys!!) chocolate bar...just say no this Halloween and use your energy to dance under the moon instead, or how about a party table where you can create your own festive yummy snacks...probably cheaper to go to the movies with organic popcorn...I saw a small bag of candy selling for $5!! outrageous. As a parent who knows you must start healthy habits early on with kids...I failed to do this with my kids when they were very young (7-12)...and I regret it every day of my life as a mom...because now I have to watch the bad habits take over...and there's little I can do but wait...wait for my kids to realize how incredibly wrong it is to consume large amounts of red #40, and so on. And sadly, one of my children is now a diabetic...maybe it was the early onset of unhealthy habits, not sure...but I can assure you...it is never worth it to see your kids smiling with a bag of crap they can freeze and eat for months. Don't do it. Stop now, do something now, before you are a parent with regrets like me. In honor of my childs health...every Halloween I steal candy from kids...yep, I take it when they aren't looking...handfuls go right in my pocket...or I literally hide bags I see lying around the hale. It's true, and wanna know something, every time I do and a parent finds out...not one word, I get "cool, thanks" "yes, please" "gosh, at least they won't blame me!" parents that know the longterm affects are on my side...so bring your keikis to my hale, noooo prob...I'll keep them busy with arts n crafts and baking organic goodies...last year I watched my other kid who still likes to trick or treat, dump most of the candy in the trash...not everything, still working on it...but it's a start, I'm hopeful. And I'm not gonna lie, Reeses cups are my favorite...but I think about my child who sticks a needle in their stomach every day of their life...and it makes me wanna run around town with a loud megaphone announcing the signs of diabetes and early detection. C'mon parents, let's be smarter than whats out there trying to get at our keikis...let's make a change in their life that will benefit our grandkids someday...and theres.
Pele Goddess, great work!!!

See you on the other side,

~M.
